Clackamas County, OR. — The Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that a Clackamas County grand jury has indicted former West Linn doctor David Farley on 11 felony charges involving three victims, following an extensive investigation led by DOJ criminal investigators and prosecutors. Farley was arraigned at the Clackamas County Courthouse on Wednesday afternoon.
The case originated in December 2024 when the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office requested that the Oregon DOJ conduct an independent investigation into allegations against Farley. DOJ investigators reviewed the evidence, pursued new leads, and presented the case to a grand jury on October 2–3, 2025.
“Survivors and their families have shown remarkable courage throughout this process,” said Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield. “This indictment reflects our commitment to justice. Our focus now—and always—is on the people whose lives were upended by this abuse.”
District Attorney John Wentworth said he asked the DOJ to continue the investigation and prosecution due to the gravity of the allegations brought by Farley’s former patients.
“The former patients had developed trust with the DOJ and placed their confidence in its review,” Wentworth stated. “I have dedicated my entire career to victim advocacy and the pursuit of justice.”
Attorney General Rayfield emphasized that the case underscores the importance of trust and accountability within positions of authority.
“When someone in a position of authority uses that position to harm others, it strikes at the core of who we are as a community,” Rayfield said. “We owe it to survivors to follow the facts wherever they lead and ensure that no one is above the law.”
The DOJ said it will continue to work closely with the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office as the case proceeds through the judicial process.
As in all criminal proceedings, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
