Hillsboro, OR. — Hillsboro Parks & Recreation is inviting the community to celebrate the spooky season with a variety of festive events throughout October.
Families, teens, and adults alike can choose from an array of Halloween-themed activities designed to spark fun and creativity.
Highlights include the HalloWetlands adventure at Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve on October 18, where visitors can explore the Wicked Wetlands Trick-or-Treat Trail, enjoy mad scientist shows, and meet creepy crawly reptiles. Admission is $5, with children three and under free.
At the Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center, families can take part in Jack-O-Float on October 25. Participants pick pumpkins from a floating pumpkin patch, then enjoy a recreational swim, coloring contest, cookies, and cider.
For those looking to dance the night away, the Halloween Dance with Griffin’s Place takes place October 22 at Hidden Creek Community Center. The adaptive event is tailored for teens and adults with disabilities and features costumes, crafts, music, and food.
The Senior Center will also host seasonal celebrations, including a Haunted Harvest Festival on October 31 and a local travel trip to St. Helens on October 13, where attendees can visit iconic Halloween filming locations and Plumper Pumpkin Patch.
Teens can close out the month at the Ohana Halloween Movie Night on October 31, with pizza, costume contests, crafts, and a spooky film.
With events ranging from harvest festivals to floating pumpkins, Hillsboro Parks & Recreation promises “no shortage of thrills, chills, and festive fun” this Halloween season.
