The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) invites public comment to better understand how consumers may have been exposed to false or unsupported claims about “gender-affirming care” (GAC), especially as it relates to minors, and to gauge the harms consumers may be experiencing. The docket is open through September 26, 2025. Among the issues the FTC is asking to be addressed are: which claims are being made by providers of GAC to minors, the basis (or lack thereof) for the evidence behind those claims, the nature of any consumer injuries, and how information is being disclosed.
