Baker City, OR. — Official Release: On Thursday May 15th, 2025, Detectives with the Baker City Police Department assisted by the High Desert Drug Task Force (Ontario area) and the Blue Mountain Narcotics Team (Pendleton/Hermiston area) executed a search warrant at the home of William Donald Hansen, 419 Second Street in Baker City, Oregon. The warrant was executed after a lengthy narcotics investigation conducted by Baker City Police detectives assisted by the mentioned task forces in Eastern Oregon. About 4 pounds of methamphetamine was seized during the investigation.
As a result of this case on Tuesday August 6th, 2025, at about 3:00 pm Baker City police detectives arrested Beaux Steele, age 26, on a traffic stop in Baker City, Oregon. Beaux was transported to the Baker County Jail and lodged for Possession of methamphetamine. A Baker County Grand Jury later indicted her on an additional charge of delivery of methamphetamine. It was determined during the investigation that Beaux had been living at the residence.
On August 18th, 2025, Bodie Baird, age 32 turned himself into the Baker County Sheriff’s Office as he had a warrant for his arrest for unlawful possession and delivery of methamphetamine stemming from this case. Mr. Baird was determined to be a business associate of Mr. Hansen’s during the investigation.
BCPD detectives learned Mr. Hansen had fled the area after the search warrant execution in May and subsequently located him in Las Vegas Nevada. On Friday August 22nd, 2025, narcotics detectives with LVMPD took Mr. Hansen into custody on a fugitive from justice warrant. The original charge resulting in the warrant from Baker City was a commercial drug offense of unlawful delivery and possession of methamphetamine.
One mission of the Baker City Police Department detective unit is to address drug use and trafficking in our local area and to disrupt and/or dismantle mid-to-upper-level drug trafficking individuals or organizations. This mission helps Baker City PD address violent crime as well as provide valuable intelligence and investigative resources to all law enforcement regarding unlawful criminal activity. Detectives are part of the Baker County Major Crime Team and partner with outside agencies and task forces to accomplish the mission.
