Portland, OR. Official Release: — Multnomah County prosecutors have announced a new indictment against Jesse Lee Calhoun, 39, charging him with a fourth murder. The latest indictment includes two additional charges: Murder in the Second Degree and Abuse of a Corpse in the Second Degree, relating to the death of Kristin Smith, age 22.
The indictment alleges that Smith died on or about November 20, 2022. Part of her remains were discovered in a field in Southeast Portland on February 19, 2023.
With these new charges, Calhoun now faces a total of four counts of Murder in the Second Degree and four counts of Abuse of a Corpse in the Second Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned on August 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. before Judge Celia Howes.
Calhoun had previously been indicted by a grand jury on May 16, 2024, for the deaths of Charity Lynn Perry, 24, Bridget Leanne Webster, 31, and Joanna Speaks, 32—three women found deceased under suspicious circumstances in 2023. The charges in that indictment included three counts of Murder in the Second Degree and three counts of Abuse of a Corpse in the Second Degree.
“MCDA recognizes the profound effect these women’s deaths have had on their families, friends, and the community,” prosecutors said in a statement. “MCDA is committed to ensuring justice for the victims and their families.”
Investigators from multiple law enforcement agencies contributed to the case. Prosecutors thanked the Portland Police Bureau, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Gresham Police Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, and federal and regional crime laboratories and medical examiners.

Calhoun remains in custody at Snake River Correctional Institution and is expected to be transferred to Multnomah County custody for his upcoming arraignment.
