Eugene, OR. — Official Release: Fresno County Sheriff’s Office had notified Eugene Police that 47-year-old Hans Matheus, who is from Fresno, was wanted for a Burglary and was possibly in Eugene. After reviewing and verifying the warrant and its purpose, the License Plate Reader system was put to work. At 1:37 p.m. on July 22, a vehicle associated with Matheus was located at Elmer’s Restaurant, 1036 Valley River Way.
EPD detectives checked the area and identified Matheus, then called Eugene Police patrol officers, who responded to assist with taking him into custody. When Matheus came out of the restaurant, he was contacted in the parking lot and arrested without incident.
Matheus was transported to the Lane County Jail and lodged on a charge of Fugitive from Justice for the following extraditable warrant from Fresno, California: WNO/25015245 – Residential Burglary.
