Multnomah County, OR. – Official Release: The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office today announced that a Multnomah County jury found Michael Anthony Panarites, 40, guilty on a number of counts related to a years-long escalation of violence against a former intimate partner.

Trial & Verdict
Deputy District Attorneys Kenzie Ludwig and Reid Schweitzer represented the State at trial, which took place from February 10 through 20, 2025 in front of the Honorable Judge Andrew Lavin. On Thursday, February 20, a 12-person jury found Panarites guilty of:
- Attempted Murder in the Second Degree Constituting Domestic Violence
- Solicitation of Murder
- Stalking
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Two Counts)
- Felony Unlawful Use of a GPS Device (Six Counts)
- Attempted Felony Assault in the Fourth Degree Constituting Domestic Violence
- Attempted Assault in the Fourth Degree Constituting Domestic Violence (Three Counts)
- Harassment Constituting Domestic Violence (Two Counts)
- Coercion Constituting Domestic Violence (Two Counts)
- Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree
- Sodomy in the First Degree Constituting Domestic Violence (Three Counts)
- Rape in the First Degree Constituting Domestic Violence (Two Counts)
- Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree Constituting Domestic Violence
Panarites remains in custody pending sentencing, which has been set for March 27, 2025. He faces a minimum of 25 years.
