Canyon County, ID. — Official Release: A 2023 Volvo VN pulling a 2023 CIMC reefer trailer, driven by a 30-year-old male from Vancouver, Washington, was traveling eastbound on I84 at mile marker 21 when the trailer caught fire.
The driver was uninjured and was not transported.

All eastbound lanes are blocked, and traffic has been diverted to Old Highway 30 off the Sand Hollow exit at mile marker 17. The westbound lanes were closed for 30 minutes to redirect traffic between the roadblock and the crossover.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police (ISP). ISP was assisted by the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Middleton Police and Fire, Caldwell Fire, Idaho Transportation Department, and Sand Hollow Fire.
