February 18, 2025 – ORP Chair Justin Hwang
A Personal Announcement and the Future of Our Party
Fellow Republicans,
As we approach the election for the next Chair of the Oregon Republican Party, I want to take a moment to share a personal decision with you. After much prayer and careful consideration, I have decided not to seek another term as ORP Chair. This was a difficult decision, but I believe it is the right one—for my future and for the party’s success in the upcoming elections.
I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together.
Since becoming Chair, we have raised over $2.6 million in direct contributions and transfers into our state account. Through federal efforts, we raised over $1.5 million in 2021-2022—an unprecedented achievement. Most recently, in 2023-2024, the party raised over $3 million through transfers and federal fundraising efforts—another record-breaking success.
We invested millions into supporting candidates and causes, ensuring we had the resources to compete. We led the largest party-building effort in recent history, funding voter outreach, mail programs, and—for the first time in over a decade—airing television ads for Oregon Republicans.
But above all, the record I am most proud of is that we brought the party together. Unity and shared prosperity must continue to be the guiding principles of our movement.
As you consider the next Chair, I urge you to elect someone who is committed to bringing people together—not further dividing our party. We cannot afford leadership that thrives on division. There are individuals within our party, here and across the country, who seek only to sow discord. These are not leaders. They should not be given the opportunity to undermine our shared mission. Division and subtraction politics aren’t just bad math—they’re bad leadership.
I remain deeply committed to the Republican Party and the conservative movement in the Pacific Northwest. As I navigate some exciting new chapters in my life—spending more time growing my business in Southwest Washington and throughout the region—I look forward to serving in new ways. Our fight for freedom, opportunity, and prosperity is far from over, and I intend to continue contributing to that cause.
The future of our party is bright, and now more than ever, we must rally behind leaders we can be proud of.
Onward,
Justin Hwang
