Salem, OR. – On Thursday February 13, the Oregon Legislative Assembly’s HR Director, Tracey Yee, sent an email to the Capitol community regarding a gossip column circulating by email. Director Yee writes:
In recent weeks, a newsletter has been circulating spreading gossip and rumors about members of the Capitol community. The motive for publishing this newsletter is unclear, but the effects and results are very clear.
Right Now Oregon obtained copies of three emails from a “Lady Whistledown,” a reference to an anonymous gossip columnist in the Netflix TV show “Bridgerton.” One email claims that Senator Rob Wagner, currently presiding officer of the Oregon State Senate, stated openly during a trip on an elevator that he had sold his home in Lake Oswego and relocated to Wilsonville. Wilsonville city limits are entirely within Senate District 13.
So here’s what I heard from my super reliable source (because, babe, we only deal in top-tier intel here). Apparently, this certain president-let’s just say they hold some serious power in Oregon-was overheard, wait for it, casually dropping a major bombshell on an elevator ride. I mean, what is it about elevators that just bring out the drama, am I right?
Anyway, the big reveal? They sold their million-dollar mansion on Lake O (which, hello, gorgeous views, can we talk about the real estate flex here?) to move out to Willsonville. Yep, that’s right-Willsonville! But wait-here’s the real kicker-they made a huge move outside their district. Like, why would you leave all that luxury for suburbia, honey?
Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m here for the drama. And get this: since their assets are tucked away nice and cozy in a trust fund, good luck finding a paper trail. It’s like trying to track down a unicorn, my loves. No trace, no update on their official info, nada. So while we’re all here wondering, it seems like this president is keeping things, uh, interesting.Pham, Reynolds, and a Little District Drama
But wait, the plot thickens. Could they be following in the footsteps of some of Oregon’s other biggest movers and shakers? Pham and Reynolds have both been rumored to live outside their districts-rumored, darling, don’t come for me unless you’ve got receipts.
Now, Pham’s situation may be a bit… questionable, but Reynalds? Well, she might just have that green light with her district expanding. So maybe this is the start of a trend? Maybe our favorite prez is setting the stage for the next big power move.
Right Now Oregon currently has no intention to publish the remaining portions of other emails, as the contents appear to be related to internal HR matters at the legislature. The editorial team is unaware if the Legislative Assembly gives any credence to the assertion that President Wagner no longer fulfills a Constitutional requirement to be a resident of the Senate District he was elected to represent. No other evidence is provided to confirm the assertions. Representative Hai Pham was the subject of a residency complaint in 2022, that was decided in his favor by a Secretary of State from his own party, Shemia Fagan, who ultimately resigned after she failed to disclose paid contracted work she performed for a marijuana dispensary under audit by her office.
