Columbia County, OR. – Official Release: The Columbia County Major Crimes Team is investigating a shooting that occurred on February 1, 2025 at approximately 1:25pm in Clatskanie, OR.
Deputies responded to the scene following reports of gunfire and discovered five individuals with gunshot wounds. Two people were pronounced deceased at the scene, while three others were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Investigators believe the shooting started as a disagreement that quickly turned violent. Investigators have learned that 32-year-old Anthony Hanson pulled out a gun and shot four people in the house – 21-year-old Ryan Thies, 25-year-old Patrick McKenzie, 28-year-old Renato Pascoal, and 28-year-old Molly Cassidy. Ryan Thies fired back, killing Hanson. When medics arrived on scene, Molly Cassidy was also pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing.
