Coos County, OR. – Official Release: On January 19, 2025, at approximately 5:04 PM, Deputy Z. Smith observed a black 1999 Honda Civic, driven by 57-year-old Troy Newsted, pass through the intersection of Newmark and Brussels in North Bend.
Deputy Smith recognized that Mr. Newsted’s driving privileges were suspended at the misdemeanor level from prior incidents. A traffic stop was initiated at Newmark and Sherman, where it was confirmed that Mr. Newsted was indeed driving while suspended.
As a result, he was arrested for Criminal Driving While Suspended, and his vehicle was towed. Mr. Newsted was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and subsequently released. Notably, this marks Mr. Newsted’s second arrest for Criminal Driving While Suspended this month.
