Condon, OR. – Official Release: Yesterday morning, the Gilliam County Sheriff’s Office received several calls about suspicious activity that occurred overnight on 01/02/25. Our residents woke to find suspicious tracks in the snow indicating someone had been trying to enter vehicles parked on the streets and in driveways around Condon. We believe the person or people who left the tracks were walking around sometime in the early morning hours (between 3:00 am and 5:00 am).
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating these suspicious activities and we are turning to our community for assistance in identifying the person, or people prowling around. If you have cameras on your residence (Ring, Blink, etc. ) please check your cameras and notify the Sheriff’s Office if you see anything suspicious. Notifications are best made through Frontier Regional 911 Dispatch non-emergency line at 541-384-2080.
If you find that your vehicle was entered or something was taken, please reference Gilliam County Sheriff’s Office Case #G24-002.
This is an unfortunate reminder that we all need to do our part to prevent criminal activity by locking our vehicles, securing our homes and outbuildings, and generally being vigilant about our surroundings.
