Over the past several days, the Union County Sheriff’s Office and several members our SAR Team have assisted the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office with planning and field operations on a large multi-agency operation that involved agencies from both Idaho and Oregon. We are so fortunate that our sheriffs and their offices in Oregon have such strong mutual aid relationships with both each other and outside partners that allow us to pool resources and effectively respond to situations and incidents that would otherwise significantly stress any one agency. It’s inspiring and heartwarming to see the dedication and personal sacrifices made by our regional law-enforcement and search and rescue personnel to help each other when there’s a need!
