
Portland, OR. – Official Release: On Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 7:26 p.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to the TriMet MAX platform at Northeast 148th Avenue and East Burnside Street on reports of a person shot. When officers arrived at the location, they found a male victim who died at the scene. A subject has been detained as part of the investigation.
Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives are responding to the scene to investigate. During the investigation, East Burnside Street will be closed in both directions between 146th Avenue and 148th Avenue. Additionally, TriMet MAX service is currently not traveling through the intersection where this incident occurred.
The identity of the victim will be released after the Medical Examiner has confirmed the cause of death and after family members have been notified. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
