
Coos County, OR. – Official Release: On September 18, 2024, the Coquille School District was notified by a concerned parent about a social media post being shared amongst some students. The Coquille School District immediately notified the Coos County Sheriff’s Office about the information.
The Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded and investigated the incident. The social media post was a “TikTok” originally created in July 2024. A student saw this on a Facebook “Reel” and shared it with another student. This post was not a specific threat to the Coquille School District or anywhere local. At this time, the threat is unsubstantiated and there is no threat to the students or staff.
The Coos County Sheriff’s Office and Coquille School District would like to remind students and parents, If you see something, say something. Students should be reminded to always notify an adult when they see something concerning so the matter can be handled appropriately.
