Deschutes County, OR. – Official Release: On August 8, 2024, at 12:00 pm a motor vehicle crash caused a power pole to fall into the Baker Road, just west of Umatilla Circle in Deschutes River Woods.
Currently the cause and manner of the crash are still under investigation. Only communication lines are in the roadway, and no live power lines are involved. Baker Road is currently closed, and Deschutes County Public Works is staffing the closure.
Century Link, the owner of the downed communication lines advised they will respond to the area and repair the lines as early as tomorrow or possibly Monday.
The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle was issued a citation for Careless Driving.
