Portland, OR. – Official Release: The Portland Police Bureau conducted a successful Street Takeover Mission over the weekend and the most up-to-date results are as follows:
184 traffic stops
80 citations
39 vehicles towed
29 arrests
PPB would like to thank partner agencies that assisted with the mission.
The afternoon and early evening efforts resulted in no additional street takeovers or significant street racing events. Throughout the evening, members participating in the street takeover suppression mission used high visibility patrols and proactive policing to discourage any additional reckless driving.
Preliminary counts indicate officers involved in the mission made at least 41 traffic stops, wrote 23 citations, towed 7 vehicles, and arrested 4 people. Those numbers may increase as additional reports are completed.
Among the notable stops:
One of the drivers skidding in the intersection of Southeast 2nd Avenue and Southeast Morrison Street was located with his car at a nearby gas station in the 600 block of Southeast Grand Avenue. Rowan W. Bauschard, 20, of Portland, was arrested and charged with Reckless Driving. He was also cited for traffic violations and the car was towed.

Mission officers stopped a silver Toyota Supra for driving without plates at Northeast 99th Avenue and Northeast Multnomah Street. The driver, 18, from Gresham, was cited for driving without insurance and the car was towed.
When the group of racers moved out of Portland and toward Troutdale, officers made a traffic stop on an involved vehicle in the 2900 block of Northeast Hogan Drive in Gresham. The driver, Nathaniel Lummus, 23, of Molalla, Oregon, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Unable to conduct a street takeover in Troutdale, the racers moved into the Damascus area. PPB coordinated with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s office to respond and work to prevent racing or takeovers. Officers stopped one vehicle for a traffic violation in the parking lot of a grocery store in Damascus. The vehicle’s passenger had an open container of alcohol in the car and had multiple warrants. Christopher Alejandres-Soriano, 24, of McMinnville, was transported to Clackamas County jail
