Linn County, OR. – Official Release: The Linn County Fire Defense Board is pleased to announce that the burn ban, recently implemented due to extreme fire conditions, has been lifted. Recent changes in weather patterns have moved Linn County out of Red Flag Warning, allowing the easing of those restrictions.
Effective immediately, Albany, Lebanon, Sweet Home, Scio, Tangent, Brownsville, Halsey-Shedd, and Harrisburg residents may resume using open flames, including campfires, fire pits, and warming fires. However, it is important to remain vigilant and continue practicing fire safety. The potential for changing weather conditions means that Red Flag Warnings and associated restrictions may need to be reintroduced if conditions worsen.
Additionally, residents should know that Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) restrictions may still apply in certain areas. For updated information on ODF restrictions and to ensure compliance, please visit ODF South Cascade (https://odfsouthcascade.com/) or the ODF Fire Restrictions map (https://gisapps.odf.oregon.gov/firerestrictions/PFR.html).
The Linn County Fire Defense Board appreciates your cooperation and efforts in helping to reduce wildfire risk during the burn ban. As always, please stay informed about local fire conditions, use caution with all fire-related activities, and be prepared to adjust practices as conditions change.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our communities safe.

PARTIALLY lifted. Many readers will scroll the headlines & erroneously assume that the all clear has been given.
Sloppy journalism IMO, do better.
