Vancouver, WA. – Official Release: Just before 10pm on July 8th, 911 was called for a house fire at 1405 Grand Place in Vancouver. A Vancouver Fire Engine arrived within a couple minutes to find a working fire on the back side of the 3 story residence. A bystander had already alerted the residents and told them to evacuate.
Fire personnel quickly applied water to the exterior of the building to stop the rapid progression of fire spread. This was followed by an aggressive interior fire attack and search that thankfully revealed everyone got out safely.
In all, 30 members of the Vancouver Fire Department and neighboring Fire District 6 were able to control the fire on the large house within 30 minutes. The 3 residents received assistance from the Red Cross. Vancouver Fire Marshals are investigating the cause.
