Oregon – An initiative petition for the November 2024 election has received a certified ballot title in a judgement from the Oregon Supreme Court. The initiative with title “Limits pretrial release, increases state incarceration costs; requires enforcement of other jurisdictions’ custodial holds/orders” aims to reduce pretrial release for defendants charged with felonies/Class A misdemeanors. Official Release: The Elections Division received an Order Certifying Modified Ballot Title and Appellate Judgment from the Supreme Court on June 24, 2024, for Initiative Petition 2024-054, proposed for the November 5, 2024, General Election. The judgment included a copy of the ballot title as modified by the Attorney General.
