Bend, OR. – Official Release: On June 7th, 2024, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team, in collaboration with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, concluded a month-long drug investigation with the arrest of Jade Batts, age 34, of Bend.
A drug investigation revealed that Jade Batts was transporting drugs into Deschutes County, and she was trafficking fentanyl in the Bend area.
On June 7th, 2024, at approximately 2:00 AM, CODE Detectives were able to locate Jade Batts in her vehicle outside of Deschutes County. Drug agents followed Batts as she drove into Deschutes County, specifically, into Peter Skene Ogden State Park. Deschutes County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop on her vehicle at that location. K9 “Bonnie” a drug detection K9 with the Bend Police Department, was deployed during the traffic stop and alerted to the odor presence of drugs in her vehicle, a blue 1999 Ford Explorer.
CODE Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for Batts and her vehicle. CODE Detectives executed the search warrant at approximately 3:00 AM. During a search of her vehicle, Jade Batts was in possession of both fentanyl pills and fentanyl powder, packaging material, and a digital scale.
Jade Batts was transported to the Deschutes County Adult Jail. At the jail, Batts was found to be in possession of additional fentanyl pills and some methamphetamine, additional charges may be filed in this case as the investigation is ongoing.
