Portland, OR. – Official Release: A homicide investigation is underway after a shooting in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood that left a man dead, and a teenage boy critically injured.

On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 11:56 p.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to a shooting in the 5700 block of Southeast 130th Place. When officers arrived, they found two victims who had been shot while sitting inside of a vehicle. One of the victims, an adult male, died at the scene. Officers provided trauma first aid to the other victim, a teenage boy, until paramedics arrived and transported him to an area hospital in critical condition.

The Portland Police Homicide detectives have responded to the scene to investigate. If anyone has information about this incident, they are asked to please contact Detective J.D. During the investigation, Southeast Ramona Street will be closed near the intersection with Southeast 130th Place.

The identity of the victim will be released after the Medical Examiner has confirmed the cause of death and after family members have been notified. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
