Portland, OR. – Official Release: Starting tomorrow, June 5, 2024, candidates can file to appear on the City’s historic 2024 General Election ballot. As a part of the City’s transition to a Mayor/Council form of government, all offices will be on the ballot in November.
Candidates looking for information, forms, and procedures, can use the City Elections Office’s Run for City Office website. Filing can be completed online or in person.
Once candidates are qualified for the ballot, their approved application materials will appear on the City Elections Office‘s website.

The City currently has six nonpartisan elected offices:

The City Elections Office works with the State of Oregon and Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington Counties to oversee City elections, certify candidates and measures to the ballot, and certify election results. We also enforce City campaign finance regulations and provide informational resources.
