Portland, OR. – Official Release:
The sex crimes suspect injured in a shots fired incident in the Russell Neighborhood has been identified as Patrick W. Myers, 44, of Portland. Myers is in police custody in a local hospital. After he is treated for his injuries, he will be booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center.
The Portland Police Bureau would like to provide the community with a more comprehensive timeline of Wednesday’s incident.
4:06 a.m. PPB’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, with assistance from the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), begin the servicing of a search warrant
4:19 a.m. CNT begins more than an hour of communication with Myers in an effort to encourage him to surrender
6:06 a.m. Myers ends communication with CNT
6:08 a.m. Myers exits the home armed with a rifle and he is shot by a SERT member
6:14 a.m. Myers is taken into custody
6:15 a.m. A medic assigned to SERT begins rendering aid
6:25 a.m. Myers is transported to a local hospital
PPB’s Homicide Unit, along with the Forensic Evidence Division (FED) and others, responded to the scene to launch an investigation that is ongoing.
