Lebanon, OR. – Official Release: Members of the Lebanon Fire District responded Wednesday evening to a reported house fire in the 100 block of Taylor Street. Initial dispatch report was fire coming from vents in the kitchen. The Incident Commander arrived to find smoke coming from the residence.
After preforming a walk around of building the IC declared an offensive attacked and ordered the first arriving engine to pull an attack line through front door and begin suppression efforts. Once initial crews made their way through the structure, it was determined that the fire was coming from underneath the house.
After making access underneath the house in the rear of the structure, firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. The investigation found the cause of the fire undetermined. The Lebanon Fire District responded with 18 personnel on 4 Engines, 2 ALS medic units, 1 Ladder Truck, 1 Heavy Rescue and 3 Chief officers. The district was assisted by 4 patrol officers by Lebanon Police Department.
The Lebanon Fire District would like to remind the community of the importance of working smoke alarms and having a plan of escape in the case of a fire.
