Heading into 2024, Portland-area voters are laser-focused on the crime, homelessness and fentanyl explosion they’ve witnessed.

Voters’ negative sentiment is a big problem for vulnerable Democrat Andrea Salinas.

The Oregonian reported that a new poll found:

• “…nearly 90% — said they are dissatisfied with the state of public safety in Portland”
  
• “74% worried they or their family members will become crime victims”
• “Nearly 80% of respondents said crime has increased”
• “71% said the city needs more officers”
• “About two-thirds of Portland voters say the city is on ‘the wrong track’ and more than half would leave if they could afford to”
