Oregon’s Office of the Secretary of State seeks to contract a foreign company to monitor, record, and report any Oregonians who post on social media that expresses doubts about Oregon’s elections and its voting system by using a loose definition to “combat harmful content” which relates to Misinformation, Disinformation, and Malinformation (MDM). This initiative has not been voted on by the people of Oregon nor its elected representatives, but was implemented by unelected or appointed individuals within the Oregon government.
This software would cause Oregonians to be constantly surveiled by Non-Government or Private Organizations, and the information gathered would then be given to State and Federal Law Enforcement without any due process. This violates both US and Oregon citizen’s constitutional rights.
At any point in time, you may be recorded, your thoughts registered, and if you say something they don’t like then there may be a knock on your door by the police or other law enforcement. This must never happen. Oregon state representatives and senators are leading the fight against this and want you to join the fight as well.
Signing this petition will send a message to the Secretary of the State of Oregon and all those who are working in the dark to pass censorship, invasion of privacy, freedom of speech, and secret policing laws that Oregonians must not accept this act of tyranny.
