Building Community Together!
In HD-15, we’re all about people coming together, making connections, helping those in need, and doing great things. What makes our HD-15 community truly special? It’s our commitment to strengthening ties, raising awareness, offering opportunity, and forming powerful partnerships.
This week, I set out on a ‘Service and Support Tour’ around HD-15. And I wanted to share with you the amazing individuals and organizations that make our community thrive. I’d like to share these resources and help you discover the “who, what, and how” to make a difference. So many people want to help, to do “something”, but don’t know where to start – maybe something posted this week inspires you! I know it inspires me.
By focusing on these good things, we can make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors. HD-15 has the resources, we have a great community, and most importantly, we support each other like family.
Join me as I work towards building more community awareness – one visit at a time!
Final stop on Wednesday, I had the pleasure of visiting the Waverly Satellite location of the Boys & Girls Club of Albany!
The principal, teachers, and families had expressed a drastic need for a satellite after school program at Waverly Elementary and approached the Boys & Girls Club of Albany to run an after school Club site. So, in 2019, funding was secured for Boys & Girls Club of Albany to begin this project. Today, the Waverly Satellite is open and fully operational.
BGCA core values guide their mission to empower every child to reach their full potential. They’re all about making a positive impact in our community. They have been fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and individual growth through their sports programs since 1966.
The well-being of our kids and staff is their top priority. They have programs with purpose and passion, providing fun activities, innovative programs, and passionate mentors to inspire youth development. And our community support ensures a safe and nurturing environment for all. They’re committed to helping every Club member unlock their full potential. Together, we shape future leaders!
Did you know they offer no-cost dental services to uninsured children aged 3-18? Help us spread the word and make sure every child in Linn County gets the care and education they deserve.
