Chief Deputy Clerk Marcie Richey will be sworn into office as County Clerk at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 3, by Judge Rachel Kittson-MaQatish in Courtroom 1 at the Linn County Courthouse.
Richey has been appointed by the Linn County Board of Commissioners on an interim basis, filling the post vacated by long-time Clerk Steve Druckenmiller, who died on Sept. 24.
She will serve as interim clerk through December 2024 and if she wishes, can file to run for office in the November 2024 general election.
Richey has worked in the Clerk’s Office for almost 30 years.
