September 14, 2023 – Representative Virgle Osborne: Representative Osborne (R-Roseburg) Announces His Re-Election Campaign, Seeks Second Term in Office
Today, Representative Osborne announced his re-election campaign to represent the people of Oregon House District 2 which encompasses most of Douglas County. He made the following statement:
“I am proud to throw my hat in the ring once again to continue to represent the people of District 2. The issues Douglas County and Oregon face are the same as they were just two years ago: homelessness continues to worsen, improperly managed forests threaten our communities, increased costs from taxes make Oregonians’ bottom line worse, our schools continue to suffer despite record-level funding, and extreme environmental policies jeopardize our way of life.
“In the 2023 Regular Session, I introduced an important search and rescue bill that will aid in search operations. The Governor signed the bill into law over the summer. I also worked to secure $800,000 for a new childcare facility in Myrtle Creek. In addition, I worked with our senator, Senator David Brock Smith, to secure $800,000 for North Douglas County Fire & EMS to build housing.
“I forged critical relationships with fellow legislators and organizations that have set me up to continue to build upon my achievements. With the short session right around the corner, I look forward to continuing to represent the interests of House District 2.”
