LANE COUNTY, Ore. — Authorities have identified the driver who died in a single-vehicle crash earlier this week as David Anthony King, 67, of Bend.
According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 11 a.m. on April 6 to a reported crash on Central Road near Fleck Road, alongside fire personnel.
Investigators said a Dodge pickup truck left the roadway and overturned in a roadside ditch. King, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found deceased at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate King may have suffered a medical issue while driving, which led to the crash.
Officials initially withheld the driver’s identity pending notification of next of kin. The incident remains under investigation.
