IRRIGON, OR – The Young Republicans of Oregon have formed a new chapter in Umatilla and Morrow Counties. The UMYR will cultivate the next generation of conservative leaders by providing opportunities for them to receive political training, networking, and meeting Republican leaders.
The following officers were unanimously elected by the Young Republican members in Umatilla and Morrow counties:
- Chair Evan Purves of Irrigon
- Vice Chair Connor Roberts of Hermiston
- Secretary Katelyn Moore of Milton-Freewater
Newly elected Umatilla Morrow Young Republicans Chair Evan Purves stated, “I am extremely excited and grateful to lead the Umatilla Morrow Young Republicans. Through my leadership, I plan to organize the members of the UMYR to fight to elect Republicans throughout Umatilla and Morrow counties.”
Connor Roberts, Umatilla Morrow Young Republicans Vice Chair, added, “It’s a privilege to be elected Vice Chair of the Umatilla Morrow Young Republicans. I look forward to working with our Chair, Evan Purves and others on the board to help build up this chapter to serve Eastern Oregon. I am committed to building an organization that serves the community and the conservative values that many of our members hold. I look forward to engaging with the community and promoting their values in our region.”
YRO State Chair Tanner Elliott said, “The launch of the Umatilla Morrow Young Republicans is another step in recruiting and cultivating the next generation of leaders in Oregon. In recent years, we’ve seen continued spending and growing conservative values and stepping up and getting involved in their communities. This is the 4th chapter we have in our organization’s history. I want to congratulate the officers and thank them for their involvement and commitment to the state of Oregon. I look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the coming month. I’m confident this group will make a meaningful impact in Eastern Oregon and beyond.”
