Wallowa County, OR. ‐- Rancher and small business owner Rawley Bigsby has announced his candidacy for Wallowa County Commissioner, Position 3, entering the race with a focus on fiscal responsibility, public safety, and support for local agriculture.
Bigsby lives and works in Wallowa County, where he operates a cattle and hay operation with his family. He currently serves as vice president of the Wallowa County Stockgrowers Association and as a director on the Wallowa County Soil and Water Conservation District.
In announcing his campaign, Bigsby said his priorities include responsible budgeting, maintaining strong public safety, and supporting policies that strengthen agriculture and natural resource industries while keeping county government transparent and accessible.
“I care deeply about this county and the people who call it home,” Bigsby said in a statement. “We need leadership that listens first, makes thoughtful decisions, and keeps Wallowa County strong for the next generation.”
State Sen. Todd Nash, a former Wallowa County commissioner, has endorsed Bigsby’s campaign. Nash said Bigsby understands the region’s rural way of life and would bring steady leadership to county government.
“Rawley Bigsby understands our way of life and the values that shape Wallowa County,” Nash said. “He will bring steady, common-sense leadership and a strong commitment to the people he serves.”
Bigsby said he plans to meet with voters across the county in the coming weeks as the campaign begins.
