Salem, OR. — Update: Daniel Ray Myers, wanted in a Salem attempted murder investigation, was arrested in Bakersfield, California, after allegedly stabbing a co-worker during deliveries.

The Salem Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 62-year-old man wanted in connection with an attempted murder investigation.
Detectives are searching for Daniel Ray Myers of Salem following a violent incident reported Tuesday evening.
According to investigators, at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Feb. 10, Myers and the victim were inside his vehicle completing online food delivery orders when he drove her to a secluded location in West Salem. The victim told police that Myers attempted to sexually assault her, and when she resisted, he stabbed her multiple times.
As the victim tried to escape, Myers allegedly restrained her inside the vehicle. She was eventually able to convince him to let her enter a Walgreens store in Keizer to obtain first aid supplies. Once inside, store employees contacted police on her behalf.
Officers arrived and located the victim, who was transported to Salem Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Myers fled the area before officers arrived, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Police say Myers is believed to be driving a silver Honda Civic with Oregon license plate 241NGP. There is probable cause to arrest him on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and other felony crimes.
Detectives with the Salem Police Violent Crimes Unit believe Myers may have access to firearms. Anyone who sees him is urged not to approach and to call 911 immediately.
