Portland, OR. — The Portland Police Bureau, working with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public’s help in solving the homicide of Taylor Ritter.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 2, 2025, officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to reports of a person down in a parking lot in the 300 block of Southwest 3rd Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Ritter lying on the ground. Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced him deceased.
Investigators said the suspect or suspects fled before police arrived. Ritter was 20 years old at the time of his death.
The Oregon Medical Examiner’s Office later determined that Ritter died from a gunshot wound. Police noted the shooting occurred near several bars and hotels, leading detectives to believe witnesses may have been in the area but have not yet come forward.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or those involved to submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Oregon. The organization offers cash rewards of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest in unsolved felony cases, provided the tipster remains anonymous.
