Salem, OR. — A Salem man was arrested Thursday following an investigation into a menacing incident that occurred late last month in northeast Salem, according to the Salem Police Department.
On January 8, 2026, officers with the department’s Special Investigations Unit arrested Erickson Bossy, 23, of Salem, in connection with an incident reported on December 29, 2025, near Knox Avenue and Edina Lane NE in the North East Salem Community Association neighborhood.
Police said the victim, a 48-year-old Salem man, reported that while he was walking, a man pulled up beside him in a red Kia Altima without license plates. During the encounter, the suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim, claimed affiliation with a gang, and then drove away. The victim described the weapon as a Glock-style handgun.
Patrol officers identified Bossy as a person of interest, and the case was referred to the Strategic Investigations Unit for follow-up. Detectives later confirmed Bossy as the suspect and obtained a search and arrest warrant.
At approximately 12:30 p.m. on January 8, Salem Police SWAT served the warrant in the 400 block of 23rd Street NE. Bossy was taken into custody without incident.
During the search, investigators recovered three firearms, including one rifle and two handguns. Police also seized multiple items they said were consistent with Norteño gang affiliation.
The Salem Police Department said the arrest aligns with its Community Violence Reduction Initiative, which focuses on reducing violent crime and holding offenders accountable.
The investigation remains ongoing. Additional inquiries are being directed to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.
