Yachats, OR. — For more than three decades, the Yachats Lions Club has welcomed families and visitors from across Oregon, Washington, and beyond to its annual Crab Feed, a winter tradition centered on fresh coastal seafood and community service.
This year, the popular fundraiser returns on January 31st to an all-you-can-eat format, with tickets priced at $50 per person. The meal includes locally sourced Dungeness crab, baked beans, coleslaw, bread, and soda.
The 2026 Crab Feed will feature four seatings: two at the Lions Club Hall and two at the Yachats Commons, each scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m on January 31st. Tickets can be purchased online through the club’s website, where attendees may select their preferred seating time. Additional information is available by emailing YachatsLionsCrabFeed@gmail.com.
Lion David O’Kelley, coordinator of the event, said the club is pleased to continue a fundraiser that has become a hallmark of the community. He credited strong support from local residents and businesses in Yachats, Waldport, and Newport, as well as South Beach Fish Market, which prepares and cleans the crab for the event.
Operating under the Lions’ longstanding motto, “We Serve,” the Yachats Lions Club supports a wide range of local and regional initiatives, including vision and hearing exams, eyeglasses and hearing aids, school-based eye screenings in Lincoln County, student scholarships, food pantries, educational programs, and community use of the Lions Clubhouse. Proceeds from the club’s thrift store also help fund these efforts.
Funds raised through the Crab Feed benefit the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, which provides critical vision and hearing services statewide. The foundation is affiliated with Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service club organization, with more than 1.4 million members serving communities in over 200 countries.
