Tigard, OR. — The City of Tigard announced the appointment of Tom Anderson to the Tigard City Council, filling the vacancy created when Yi-Kang Hu was selected as mayor on October 7, 2025. Anderson’s term will run from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026. A full four-year council seat will be decided by voters in November 2026, with the elected member taking office in January 2027.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Tigard community once again,” Anderson said. “I look forward to working with my fellow council members and the community on a robust council agenda for 2026.”
Anderson brings more than a decade of civic involvement to the role, including four years on the Tigard City Council and seven years on the Tigard Planning Commission, where he served two years as president. He is also a business owner, a member of the Tigard Downtown Alliance, and has over 25 years of real estate experience as a principal broker.
Mayor Hu welcomed the appointment, saying, “Tom has demonstrated a deep commitment to the Tigard community. His steady leadership and perspective will be an asset to the council. I look forward to the contribution he’ll bring in this next chapter of service.”
The City of Tigard expressed appreciation for Anderson’s willingness to step into the role and emphasized its anticipation of his contributions during the upcoming year.
