Woodburn, OR. — The Woodburn Police Department is searching for a suspect involved in an attempted robbery Saturday afternoon at the Woodburn Premium Outlets.
Officers were dispatched around 3:54 p.m. on December 6 after a victim reported being confronted by a man in the back parking lot of the shopping center at 1001 Arney Road. According to police, the suspect made a motion the victim believed suggested he had a concealed firearm. A short physical struggle followed before the man fled on foot.
Responding officers conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Police describe the suspect as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build, light-brown complexion, and appearing to be in his late 20s to early 30s. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black beanie, white shoes, and a pink or purple face mask. Security video shows the suspect had been lingering in the rear parking lot for an extended period before the incident and was last observed leaving along a tree line in the northwest section of the lot.
The Woodburn Police Department urges shoppers to remain aware of their surroundings, secure valuables, and report suspicious behavior.
