Clark County, WA. — A major multi-state narcotics investigation led by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) resulted in the seizure of more than 65 pounds of illegal drugs and the arrest of a federal trafficking suspect, authorities announced Wednesday.
On November 13, SIU deputies—working alongside the Vancouver FBI office and an Oregon State Police K9 team—conducted a drug interdiction traffic stop on Interstate 5 in Lane County, Oregon. The stop capped a long-term investigation spanning Washington, Oregon, and Mexico, which included multiple controlled buys and surveillance operations initiated after an SIU search warrant was executed in Clark County.
During the stop, investigators seized approximately 55 pounds of methamphetamine and 10 pounds of fentanyl powder. The combined estimated street value of the narcotics exceeds $225,000. Fentanyl powder in this quantity represents a potentially lethal dose for tens of thousands of people.
Deputies arrested Carlos Calvillo, who now faces federal drug trafficking charges.
The Sheriff’s Office praised the coordinated effort, noting the significant impact of removing such dangerous drugs from circulation.
“Excellent work by SIU and our partners in keeping these dangerous drugs off our streets,” the agency said in its statement.
The investigation remains ongoing.
