Linn County, OR. — A 52-year-old Lebanon man, Jeremy Russell Bodell, made his initial appearance in federal court today after being charged with possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
According to court documents, the case began when Instagram reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) on October 4, 2021, that a user under the handle “Kildrak Fireblade” had distributed a video depicting child sexual abuse. NCMEC identified Bodell as the likely subscriber associated with the phone number linked to that account.
In September 2025, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) encountered another username, “dax,” during an investigation into invite-only CSAM trading groups on platforms such as Telegram. Investigators confirmed the account was associated with the same phone number previously reported by NCMEC. The “dax” account was a member of 15 private groups that shared illegal images, videos, and cloud storage links containing CSAM.
On November 7, 2025, HSI agents executed a federal search warrant at Bodell’s home, seizing his cell phone and uncovering multiple CSAM files, as well as records of participation in the online groups. During an interview, Bodell acknowledged he had been previously accused of sex abuse—an allegation now under investigation by HSI.
Bodell was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with possession of child pornography. He appeared before a U.S. Magistrate Judge and was released with conditions pending further proceedings.
The case is being investigated by HSI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Eliza Carmen Rodriguez as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative combating child exploitation and abuse.
Federal officials reminded the public that CSAM “depicts actual crimes being committed against children,” and that the continued sharing of such material “re-victimizes and re-traumatizes the child victims each time their abuse is viewed.”
