Lebanon, OR. — The Lebanon Fire District has joined forces with local organizations to support a community-wide food drive benefiting Lebanon’s food banks. The initiative, organized by the Enliven Foundation, is aimed at helping families affected by the temporary suspension of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits during the ongoing government shutdown.
Local food banks have reported a surge in demand as many families face gaps in food assistance. Organizers emphasize that even small donations make a big difference—a single dollar can purchase up to nine pounds of food through the Oregon Food Bank, maximizing the impact of every contribution.
Donation barrels are available at Lebanon Fire District Station 31 (1050 W. Oak Street) and other participating sites across the community. The drive will continue until SNAP benefits are reinstated.
“Supporting our neighbors in need is what community is all about,” said Fire Chief Joseph Rodondi. “We’re grateful to join our local partners to help families access food and essential resources during this time.”
A flyer with additional details about drop-off locations and donation options is available from the Lebanon Fire District and Enliven Foundation.
