Morrow County, OR. — The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division is seeking the public’s help in identifying those responsible for the unlawful killing of a branch bull elk near Heppner, Oregon.
Investigators say that on the morning of Friday, September 19, 2025, around 7:30 a.m., individual(s) illegally harvested a bull elk on private ranch property near the intersection of Forest Service Road 21 and Sunflower Flat Road in Morrow County. Most of the animal’s meat was removed, but some was left behind and wasted.

The Turn In Poachers (TIP) program offers preference points or cash rewards for tips leading to an arrest or citation in wildlife poaching cases. Rewards range from four preference points for elk to up to $2,000 cash for information about illegal elk, deer, or antelope killings.
