Lebanon, OR. — The Lebanon Community School District released a statement Friday addressing questions from community members about why the district and Lebanon High School have not shared social media contests organized by local businesses to promote voting in the national T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights competition.
“Per email guidance directly from our contacts at T-Mobile, we were advised that ‘we would discourage amplifying external contests on official school channels, as it could be perceived as inducing votes and may conflict with the program’s official rules,’” the district said in its release. “In the spirit of transparency, we want our community to understand this is why we have not shared business-related contests connected to the T-Mobile competition.”
The district encouraged supporters to continue daily voting at T-Mobile’s official contest page through October 24, noting that a validation period follows before final results are certified.
Lebanon High School is the only Oregon finalist among 25 schools nationwide competing for T-Mobile’s $1 million stadium upgrade. Each finalist has already received a $25,000 grant, and the school with the highest number of verified votes will win the grand prize, including major facility improvements, a new weight room, and a community celebration.
As of today 10/20/2025 Lebanon remains in second place with 1,053,083 votes to Dierks High School with 1,290,135 votes.
As previously reported by Right Now Oregon, Lebanon’s Heath Stadium, built in 1957 and now closed due to safety concerns, has become a rallying point for the community. Local businesses, alumni, and even state legislators have been mobilizing to help Lebanon climb from second place into the top spot before voting ends.
Superintendent Jennifer Meckley called the opportunity “incredible,” noting that the project “isn’t just for our football program, but for every student and community member who uses Heath Stadium.”
Residents can vote once per day per email address until October 24 at T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights page.
