Grants Pass, OR. — Grants Pass city officials are inviting residents to apply for openings on three key advisory boards and commissions. Applications are being accepted for the Urban Area Planning Commission, the Parks Advisory Committee, and the Bikeways & Walkways Committee.
For the Urban Area Planning Commission, two positions are open: a four-year term and a vacancy expiring September 18, 2028. The commission reviews Type III Land Use Applications, including zone changes, subdivisions, planned unit developments, and major variances. It also serves as an appellate body for staff decisions and advises on Type IV requests, such as Comprehensive Plan and Development Code amendments. Applicants must reside within the City Limits or Urban Growth Boundary. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2025. The commission will review applications November 24, with Council interviews scheduled December 1, and appointments made December 3.
The Parks Advisory Committee has two openings due to vacancies, with terms expiring September 6, 2026. The committee advises on parkland locations, trail planning, recreation resource allocation, and preservation of park resources. Applicants representing diverse viewpoints including athletic leagues, natural resource preservation, park events, and family-friendly park users are encouraged. Applications are also due November 7, with review November 13 and Council appointments December 3.
Finally, the Bikeways & Walkways Committee has one three-year term opening for a City resident who represents biking and walking interests. The committee provides community input, public education on bike and pedestrian routes, and advisory support to the City and County. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025. Applications will be reviewed December 9, with appointments made January 7, 2026.
