Roseburg – US Navy veteran Paul Romero filed to run in the 2026 Republican primary for Oregon Governor on September 20, 2025. The office is held by Governor Tina Kotek, D-Salem. Romero announced his campaign on his website.
A Leader Who Serves. A Fighter for Oregon.
Paul J. Romero Jr. is not a career politician… he’s a U.S. Navy veteran, educator, father, and lifelong servant to the people around him. He’s seen firsthand what happens when government grows too large, taxes too heavily, and forgets who it was created to serve. That’s why he’s running for Governor of Oregon; to restore liberty, rebuild trust, and return power to the people.
Born into humble roots and raised with strong values of faith, family, and service, Paul’s life has been shaped by discipline and dedication. As a Navy technician, he served honorably, learning the importance of precision, accountability, and protecting what matters most. Those same principles guide his campaign today.
Paul believes Oregon is in crisis
Not because its people have failed, but because its leaders have forgotten who they work for. The hardworking families, small business owners, veterans, educators, and everyday Oregonians who make this state great have been left behind and overlooked by politicians who have grown disconnected from the very people they were elected to represent.
From skyrocketing taxes that punish productivity, to bloated agencies that waste resources and block progress, Oregon’s government has become a machine that serves itself. Our schools are no longer focused on academic excellence but on ideological agendas. Our communities are burdened by red tape, rising costs, and regulations that erode individual liberty. The values that built this state, freedom, responsibility, faith, and family, are under siege.
Oregon doesn’t need more political theater. It needs a bold course correction.
AdvertisementsFamily and Faith
Paul is a devoted father and a man of deep faith and principles that have guided every chapter of his life. He understands that the strength of any community begins with the strength of its families. As a parent, he’s seen the challenges that Oregon families face firsthand, from rising costs and overreaching mandates to declining educational standards and growing government intrusion.
Paul firmly believes that parents, not bureaucrats, should decide what’s best for their children, and that strong moral foundations begin at home… not in a government office.
