Portland – Bureau of Labor & Industries Commissioner Christina Stephenson filed to run in the 2026 primary to secure a second term on September 11, 2025. Commissioner Stephenson announced her campaign on her Facebook page.
📣 Big news: I just officially filed for re-election as your Oregon Labor Commissioner!
When I first stepped into this role, BOLI was underfunded and stretched too thin. But together, we secured a historic investment that gives workers the protection they deserve and businesses the support they need.
Over the past two years, we’ve:
✅ Closed a loophole in child labor law
✅ Built a new mediation team to resolve disputes faster
✅ Made it easier for workers to report violations
✅ Expanded access in multiple languages and through new disability tools
✅ And much more!
I’m running because there is still more to do to make sure every Oregonian has access to good-paying, fair jobs that are free from discrimination.
I hope you’ll join me in this campaign. With your early support, we can continue building the future Oregon workers and businesses deserve.
The Commissioner is a nonpartisan role that voters will first consider in the May 2026 primary. If no candidate secures more than 50% of the vote during the primary, the two candidates with the greatest number of votes will be face each other on the general election ballot in November 2026.
