Clackamas County, OR. — Official Release: Shortly before 2:00 p.m. on September 1, 2025, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of human remains found in the Mount Hood National Forest off Forest Service Road 45 near South Hillockburn Road in unincorporated Clackamas County, southeast of Estacada.
Deputies arrived and began a death investigation. Sheriff’s Office detectives, crime scene investigators, and the Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to investigate and gather evidence.
The Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and identified the victim as Jennifer Ruth Stuart, age 38, of Oregon City. Her death has been ruled a homicide.
Detectives are actively following up on leads and are urging anyone with information that may be helpful to the investigation to contact them. They are also looking to speak with anyone who recently had contact with Jennifer or may have seen her in the Estacada area.
Neighbors along South Hillockburn Road, southeast of Estacada, and anyone with trail cameras in the area are asked to check their footage from August for anything unusual or out of the ordinary. Your help could be crucial in helping us solve this investigation.
