Richland, WA. – Official Release: Early in the morning on 2/3/25, at around 12:24 AM, Richland Police Department officers responded to a hit-and-run in the 1800 block of Birch. A vehicle had crashed into a house, and the driver was seen fleeing the scene on foot.
RPD officers quickly located the suspect about two blocks away and took him into custody. It was determined that he was highly intoxicated, so he was placed under arrest for Hit & Run and DUI.
Thankfully, no one was injured, and the crash only resulted in minor property damage.
RPD warns that this incident serves as a critical reminder—never drink and drive. Impaired driving puts lives at risk and has serious consequences. Always plan ahead for a safe ride home (Uber, Lyft, a friend or family member, etc.).
